Painter, English sculptor and graphic artist, born in Onil, Alicante. He began his studies at the Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos de Valencia and later traveled to Paris on a scholarship where he came into contact and Palazuelo Chillida. Sempere accounted for contact with the work of avant-garde such as Jean Arp and Georges Braque and other artists like Kandinsky or Mondrian neoplasticist that will have great influence in bringing about his work. From that time, he starts working on geometric constructions and abstract. Begins a series in which the gouache technique leads him to investigate simple geometric elements in black backgrounds. It also works with light, as evidenced in the experience performing in 1955 at the Salon des Nouvelles Realités on the use of light applied to the arts. His work is defined by linearity and by the repetition of geometric shapes, looking for optical effects where the color contributes mightily to create the volume and effect desired. His work evolves towards Constructivism and Op Art, incorporating elements of kinetic art. Shape and volume effect a almost constant vibration in his works of art. Travel to U.S. scholarship in 1969 and began working on the use of computers applied to artistic creation. Semple has conducted experiments with light, color, atmosphere and movement. In 1983, wins the Prince of Asturias. His artwork is by donation expresses the artist, in the city of Alicante. Investigated in kinetic art.
