Exhibition Pérez Pizarro in the Fish Market (centenary of his birth)




On 25 March, the fish market of Alicante will host a major new exhibition driven Alicante City Council, brought by the Consortium of Museum and curated by Eduardo Lastres to discover the work of another great painter of Alicante, Francisco Pérez Pizarro (1911-1964), an artist who died prematurely, was founder of Parpalló and pioneer of abstraction. According Lastres is "the first abstract Alicante who developed a parallel work Saura Miles and nothing is known of him."

Born in Barcelona, \u200b\u200bbut moved to Alicante when she was 3 years, Pérez Pizarro began painting in 1944 and was a founding member of the Group Parpalló Valencia and Mediterranean Art Movement, and retained close links with painters and writers of Alicante and Valencia, as Rafael Azuar, Manolo Molina or Gastón Castelló.
As has happened with other authors of the province of the twentieth century, Pérez Pizarro has been little studied and this sample is claimed figure of this artist, who broke with the academic prevailing in the postwar years and entered the modern painting.
