Sienna Versus Odyssey

" Concentration Manifesto March 24, 2007 "

Since 14 May 2006 many citizens, young and not so young, we have mobilized to demand our right to decent housing.
We went out into the street excluded from access to housing, mortgage, we no longer miss the corruption of every day, those who still do not understand that there are more than 3 million empty homes that continue to allow, the we want to prevent profiteering by a few (construction, real estate, banks, corrupt politicians, ...) kidnap the rights of all ... those we demand that compliance with the Article 47 recognized the English Constitution, the right to decent and adequate housing. Again today
March 24, 2007, we again take to the streets because it is still necessary to mobilize to demand our right to decent housing and adequate because the housing situation remains a major problem that affects many people.

The housing problem in our country continues to generate social dynamics of indebtedness, exclusion and therefore dehumanizing. Our system makes it difficult economist young people access to decent housing. Currently, emancipation, far from being synonymous with personal fulfillment, becomes an obstacle difficult to overcome. The right that we all have to adequate housing is becoming a privilege. The predatory pricing that we are forced to pay for the rent or mortgage lead us to accept any job for that bad are its conditions, are a strong control mechanism to generalize the system structural instability which we live. Our life is mortgaged in all its dimensions. We are chained to the house and therefore chained to the insecurity. No one can understand that the price of housing has increased by 130% and wages by 9%.

are currently more than three million vacant homes in our country. The owners used the houses for speculation and not for human habitation, thus also becoming what is a right for all, a privilege only for a few. Thus, housing can not really be a law while still a business for a few.

Housing policies and urban management both locally and regionally, are not intended to satisfy the needs of people. Some neighborhoods of our city remain the forgotten ones in which green areas, sports centers, cultural venues, ... conspicuous by their absence. The frenzied housing boom is the only aim pursued without taking into account the environmental impact that may cause or breach of conservation history. The choice to trust our elected not useful. The land for building has become a commodity to be bought and sold and speculated that, regardless of any type of impact.

banks, boxes, construction, real estate, remain the major speculators. In the last decade have experienced annual increases in benefits about 20% and in some cases have reached over 40% increments. Its objective is that the accounts increase profits at the expense of the need and suffering of millions of people. And in this situation the government do nothing and continue to allow this to happen, continue to permit the deregulation of the mortgage market, the release of public land, the tax exemption of speculation, the expropriation when we feel like making urban plans without resident involvement ...
The capitalist system is a big factory of corruption as the main objective of private profit is unlimited. We live in a social and economic model that has put this country at the service of real estate speculation, regardless of economic or environmental costs or whether someone will live.

This reality is creating a society divided into social classes, is generating an inclusive society where some are out because they can not withstand the current economic dynamic. We are still many people who do not see recognized our right to adequate housing enshrined in Article 47 of the English Constitution "All the English people have the right to enjoy decent and adequate housing. The public authorities shall promote the necessary conditions and establish appropriate standards to make this right effective, regulating land use in accordance with the general interest to prevent speculation. The community will participate in the benefits accruing from urban action of public bodies "

For all this today, with this concentration for decent housing demand:

- That access to decent housing (defined as property not as property) is a universal right, claim and equated with other fundamental rights education or health.
- To bet on a model urban city and public to be driven and emergence of democratic participation, active and direct participation of citizens and to close in the adoption of urban plans, designed to serve citizens and not the market, builders or owners of land.
- an end to reclassification with interest to private owners and not a social and public benefit.
- an end to the vast web of economic interests behind the construction and urban planning.
- Prioritize the use of empty homes through laws requiring all owners to have occupied the homes.
- Autonomous Laws do that when an officer protecting floor is empty, which is managing the floor repurchase and re-assign to another person or family, thus avoiding speculation at the expense of protected flats.
- Encourage public rental housing construction and public and social housing to be operated publicly.
- End the silence before the claims of the residents of specific neighborhoods in our city and Mejostilla Aldea Moret.
- Today, we return to demand and we will not tire of repeating, to recognize our right to decent and adequate housing enshrined in Art.47 of the English Constitution.

STOP SPECULATION!
HOUSING IS A RIGHT NOT A BARGAIN!
OF DECENT HOUSING!
